Luna and Spider look over at the backdoor as they hear a knock. Luna gets up and answers the door. "hello?"
Standing in the door is someone they know as the boogeyman. Though they have only have a few encounters with them, the boogeyman’s intentions are unknown. Boogeyman has a set of 6 bronze like stone wings. The boogeyman's figure is cloaked in shadows. Only a faint eye with gold lashes can be seen on its face. The boogeyman, despite their more angelic appearance, holds out a large potato sack and speaks with a low tone "One family member please"
"Boogeyman? What are you doing here?" Luna asks as Spider grumbles and gets up walking over to the door "What?"
Boogeyman looks between the both of them "Hmmm...I wasn't expecting two of you...which of you would want to ride shotgun and who wants to be in the trunk?"
"Uhhh shotgun?"
Spider raises an eyebrow gesturing to the potato sack "what is this, a cartoon?"
"Come on, I'll go open the trunk" boogeyman gestures for them to follow as they walk outside
Luna shrugs and follows the Boogeyman outside. Spider mutters swears to herself and heads outside. Boogeyman walks out to his black 1969 Chevy Camaro with tinted windows
"Ooooo sick car. Also do you have a name you prefer? Boogeyman is kinda... weird i guess."
Spider stays quiet as she just watches boogeyman, raising an eyebrow
"Boogeyman will do for now" boogeyman pops open the trunk and there's various pool noodles and floaties with a stuffed suitcase of floral print clothes "Ohhh right, forgot I used this car for that vacation...uhhh you wouldn't mind just sitting the back would you?"
Spider nods "gladly"
"Alright well get in the car, everything should be ready for us by now" Boogeyman walks around the car and gets behind the wheel
Luna gets in on the passenger side and buckles up. Spider sighs tiredly and gets in the back not bothering with the seatbelt. The car smells vaguely like mildew and old food as boogeyman begins driving into the woods. There's a pair of fuzzy pink dice hanging from the rear view mirror and a small hula girl figurine wobbling on the dash that seems really old
Boogeyman goes to turn on the radio but it begins smoking and boogeyman turns it off quickly "hmm I need to get that fixed too..."
"Um, I have spotify, did you want a specific song?" Luna opens up her phone.
"is this actually happening?” Spider sighs.
"What? Getting consensually kidnapped? Yeah, it's an adventure." Luna smiles, enjoying herself.
"Uhh no be scared, this is against your will and you fear for your life" Boogeyman says casually.
Luna chuckles. "Of course Boogey."
"Luna they had a potato sack, how are you not finding this ridiculous?"
Luna shrugs. "Look, I'm just here for the ride and whatever Boogey needs help with. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. Not to mention, blue skies are rather rare for us to see."
They reach what looks like an old two story house out in the middle of the woods with a pink garden flamingo next to some garden gnomes in the front. The siding of the house is half painted a bright yellow. There's a few paint buckets near a ladder still Boogeyman parks in the driveway and unbuckles.
"Okay, so what are we doing here?" Luna asks while unbuckling.
Spider gets out tilting her head slightly at the house
"I'm kidnapping you two" Boogeyman gets out and gets out a large ring of old keys and shifts threw them as they walk to the door.
"um. Why?" Luna follows Boogeyman.
"that's what you call this?" Spider asks.
"We can talk about that over dinner" Boogeyman unlocks the door and steps inside, leaving the door open.
"A chill drive and dinner??? Holy shit, best kidnapper ever!" Luna walks in.
Spider shakes her head and walks inside.
The house is rather clean with a living room connected to a kitchen and small dining room. On the floor are trails of ants on the ground going to random places in the room. Boogeyman ignores them and even avoiding stepping on any as they head over to the light switch and turn on a small chandelier. Luna and Spider also dodge the ants as they sit at the dining table.
Spider sighs tiredly. There's plates in front of all three seats and trails of ants going to what looks like a tiny bit of cake on each plate. Boogeyman gets a few napkins and walks over to their seat and sits down.
Luna looks down at her plate and loses all sense of hunger. "So uhhh are the ants your roommates or something?"
"and why are we here?" Spider ignores the ants and cake for now focusing on Boogeyman.
"hmm..." Boogeyman checks their wrist as if a watch is there and sighs "I need to get my watch fixed again...But uh the ants could be seen as roommates I suppose. I was going to have dinner ready by the time you arrived but I guess ants can only work so fast" the ants seem to be bringing tiny crumbs to the cake rather than taking any, slowly building a perfect slice.
Luna looks down, impressed. "Holy crap, that's actually awesome Boogey. So just to confirm, the ants are sanitary right? I don't wanna get sick, ya know?"
"As cool as that is, you didn't answer my question," Spider mentions.
".......hmmmm I might see if ants can wash their hands..." Boogeyman looks to the side as they mumble before looking back at them "Anyway, at least we can have some wine"
"Uh do you have soda? I get drunk a bit too easily."
"today's shit enough without adding poisoning to it" Spider grumbles
"No, no , I insist. A kidnapping is supposed to be a special occasion! It's not everyday you get kidnapped" Boogeyman claps twice "The red wine please!" a line of ants start heading to the kitchen.
"Mate I would hardly call this a kidnapping" Spider chuckles slightly
"Compared to Abaddon, this is amazing." Luna smiles.
A wine bottle on the kitchen floor begins being pushed towards them at a snail's pace by the ants. a cabinet door cracks open as 3 glasses are gently nudged off onto the counter as they shatter. Boogeyman pays the broken glass no mind "Oh I don't know who that is, I don't watch anime"
"am I talking to myself here?" Spider grumbles.
"Yeah so uh as nice as this is, um, I have a lot of notes to take. Events can’t archive themselves”
"Why would i want to acknowledge you saying Im-" Boogeyman does quotations in the air "not good at kidnapping"
Luna nods "He's got a point. And besides, I'd prefer not to jinx it. It's rather comfy so far."
Spider continues "I dunno why would you also ignore me asking why you've brought us here"
"To kidnap us... apparently."
"yeah but why? There's usually a reason"
Luna shrugs "Maybe he was bored and wanted company? I mean he's offered us cake and wine. Plus aside from tormenting Knight, he's been nothing but chill with us. As far as kidnapping goes, I wish more were as nice as Boogey."
"No I've got plenty of friends here as you can see, and besides I was told by my higher up to do it and I got sick of the same old same old, the oh no someone help me! the no ones going to help you! and the stab ack cry! maybe a little pity party when they get back, and then rinse and repeat. I wanna have fun too ya know? Like I have hopes dreams and desires, why can't I have a pity party? I've been doing this for years and I don't see any trophies or someone trying to save me" Boogeyman begins rambling like they are at a therapy session as the broken glass on the ground is being slowly brought to them at a snail's pace.
Spider asks "fair enough, though who is this"higher up"? They sound like a right knob"
"Can't say for now...Oh! Did you know an ant can carry up to 50 times their weight?" Boogeyman looks over at Spider
Spider nods "yep they also can't hear and communicate with pheromones"
"Actually, I didn't know that. I learned something new today." Luna adds.
"Atleast you can learn new tricks" Boogeyman looks over at the wine bottle that's only moved an inch over this whole time "...you guys can go if you want...I need to time things a bit better next time..." Boogeyman sighs.
Spider sighs "Can't believe I'm asking this..but are you ok?"
Luna nods.
Boogeyman looks directly at Spider "No"
Spider continues "Wanna elaborate?"
"No" Boogeyman still stares.
"Fine, be miserable then" Spider shrugs.
"Want us to stay? Not like we have anything better going on at home."
"No..." Boogeyman sighs "I better start getting ready for my boss to see how it went"
"Want us to come with you? We can testify that you did a great job!" Luna offers
"Get the tea set!" Boogeyman claps twice as the wine bottle and glass shards stop being pushed and there's the sound of a fine china tea set crashing to the ground from another room "No, this business is strictly confidential. I don't think you could stay if you tried"
Luna grins. "Now I kinda want to try. Besides, it seems you could use some allies…Or at least someone who can bring you a tea set without using ants."
Spider nods "I'm with Luna on this"
a small thing of glue falls off a table and is being moved near the sound of the crash. Boogeyman shakes their head "Just go, I dont have long to prepare anyway"
"Well um, hope you have a good day Boogey. Shall we head back Spider?"
Spider sighs "You at least gonna give us a lift back? Cause fuck knows where we are"
"Right yeah, right this way" Boogeyman gets up and heads to the door as they all step outside and get in the car.
